For the past three years, BTS held the record for the most pre-ordered K-pop album. Just in April, the thirteen-member boy band Seventeen broke this record with their new album 'FML'. Fans have pre-ordered 4.64 million copies, over 60 million more than Map of the Soul! But last week that record was broken again:

JYP Entertainment recently announced that Stray Kids will be releasing their latest album ★★★★★ (5-STAR)has broken the 5 million mark! With more than 5.13 copies pre-ordered, 5-STAR is currently the most pre-ordered K-Pop album in history!

Stray Kids have more than doubled their personal record: The previous album “Maxident” (October 2022) has been pre-ordered 2.16 million times.

In the highly competitive K-pop scene, pre-orders are an important measure of an album's success. So we're excited to see what milestones 5-STAR will achieve!

According to the Hanteo Chart, fans bought 2.39 million copies on the first day after release. That's still well below Seventeen's 'FML's current record of 3.99 million copies, but it's still an impressive number.

What record will Stray Kids break next?
