On September 17 and 18, 2022, IU became the first Korean artist ever to perform at the Seoul Olympic Stadium in Seoul! The popular singer held her two-day concert “The Golden Hour: Under the Orange Sun” there. It was her first solo concert in three years.
You may already have seen pictures of the concert in which IU stands on stage in breathtaking and majestic outfits or floats above the audience in a hot air balloon that looks like a pink moon. The concert was definitely a fantastic spectacle, and we would have loved to be there!
Soon you can bring the concert home, because on July 27 the singer is releasing a DVD and a Blu-ray with footage of the event:
IU - THE GOLDEN HOUR 2022 IU CONCERT DVD & BLU-RAY
The two packages are basically very similar. Both consist of a rectangular box containing a 152-page photo book, three CDs and lots of varied extras: a reveal wheel card, a DIY ornament in the shape of a hot air balloon, a 4-cut photo, two photocards and three folded posters.
The reveal wheel card and the DIY ornament are the same in both packages, and the video material is identical too.
In both boxes, the CDs contain about 230 min of footage from the concert. There are also English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese subtitles. Both the DVDs and the Blu-rays are suitable for all regions, so they can be played on any device.
But of course there are also some differences:
The DVD box is orange and pink, and the cover shows a door. The Blu-ray box is orange-blue and shows a hot air balloon and clocks. The photo book also differs depending on the package, at least in part. In addition, both the box and the photo book of the Blu-ray are slightly bigger than the box and book of the DVD. Furthermore, the motifs on the 4-cut photo, the photocards and the folded posters are different in the two boxes.
With this concert, IU not only set the record as the first female Korean artist at the Seoul Olympic Stadium, but also won the award for Stage of the Year at the 2022 Melon Music Awards!
On Youtube, IU has already uploaded a few clips with excerpts from the concert, which may give an impression of what awaits us on the DVD and Blu-ray:
More clips include behind-the-scenes glimpses and even the full intro of the concert with the song “Eight”!
The DVD and Blu-ray offer almost four hours of entertainment and will surely become a highlight in every IU fan's collection! Which box will you get?
