It's only the first of February, but the K-pop year 2024 is already in full swing! So many new songs and albums were released in January that we can hardly count them, including “Born To Be” by ITZY and “FE304 BREAK” by NMIXX.
Fans of SM artists didn't go empty-handed either. In January, RIIZE, Minho and Super Junior-L.S.S released digital singles, and last week NCT WISH debuted with the Japanese single album “WISH”.
Would you like to know which comebacks and debuts are still waiting for you this year? Then you should definitely stay tuned, because SM Entertainment has released a schedule for 2024 and announced more than 15 comebacks from aespa, SHINee and others!
You already know a few of them, because right now you can pre-order the mini albums by Ten and Taeyong from NCT from us. Ten celebrates his official solo debut as early as February 13, and Taeyong returns on February 26 with his second mini album.
In March, you can look forward to new mini albums from Red Velvet’s Wendy and NCT Dream!
Wendy made her solo debut in April 2021, making her the first member of Red Velvet with an album of her own. Almost three years later, the singer is finally presenting new music.
We're looking forward to NCT Dream's comeback at least as much, even though it hasn't been quite that long. Their studio album “ISTJ” was most recently released in July 2023.
The second half of 2024 promises to raise the bar even higher. No fewer than 13 releases are planned for July to December:
No exact date is known yet for the following comebacks, but it looks like aespa will kick off the second half of the year with their first studio album! Since their debut in 2020, the girl group has released several singles and four mini albums, most recently “Drama” in November 2023. Fans have been longing for a studio album for a long time, and it seems this dream will finally come true in 2024.
Red Velvet is also planning a comeback in the second half of the year. After the studio album “Chill Kill”, a mini album is supposed to follow next.
Boy group fans can expect plenty too:
SHINee return with a new mini album more than a year after “Hard”. The boy group also celebrates its 16th anniversary at the end of May!
RIIZE released the digital single Love 119 in January, but of course it doesn't stop there! In 2024, the young boy group is set to release another single and their first mini album. After the great success of the debut album "Get a Guitar", we are firmly convinced that the new album will also be a highlight of the year!
NCT fans will be especially spoiled, because NCT Dream as well as NCT WISH, WayV and Doyoung are all working on new music.
NCT Dream and NCT WISH both want to release a Japanese single, and WayV is planning a new mini album. Doyoung has already released a few singles, including K-drama soundtracks, and is finally supposed to make his solo debut in 2024. Whether it will be a single or a mini album is not yet known.
Doyoung's debut is not the only solo album from SM artists in 2024!
EXO’s Suho, SNSD’s Hyo and BoA are also ready for a comeback. Suho will present a mini album, Hyo and Boa a single album.
In addition, a few new faces are set to take the stage this year:
SM Entertainment is producing a boy group in cooperation with a British agency, which will have both Korean and British members.
We can also look forward to the debut of the virtual artist “naevis”, whom fans know from aespa's music videos.
Rumors about a new girl group have been circulating since 2022. It was originally supposed to debut in 2023, but the plans were postponed to 2024. We're keeping our fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly from now on and that we get to meet the new group soon!
