BIOGRAPHY

Han Jisung was born on September 14th in Incheon, Seoul. At the age of 9, he moved to Malaysia with his parents, where he was homeschooled. He became interested in rap and composing songs at an early age. His inspirations were hip hop artists such as Epik High and Zico. He also became interested in singing through Zion T’s “Two Melodies”.

Han Jisung moved to South Korea at the age of 16 to take the Korean university entrance test. His dream was to become a singer, so he decided to stay in South Korea and made an agreement with his parents. If he doesn't get accepted into an agency within a year, then he will have to move back to Malaysia and study there.

Han Jisung and his friend heard about JYP Entertainment's monthly casting. Originally, the two of them just wanted to walk by and see if they could meet a celebrity, but then Han Jisung himself took part in the casting as a rapper. After a few days, he joined the agency.

At the end of 2016, Han Jisung founded the hip-hop unit 3RACHA with the other two trainees Bang Chan (“CB97”) and Seo Changbin (“SPEARB”). He himself used the stage name "J.One". Within this unit, the guys were able to show a completely different side of themselves. Over the course of 2017, they released self-written and self-produced songs together on Soundcloud. Later, they even worked with big names like SKI-HI and were the feature of his song JUST BREATHE (2022).

On October 11, 2017, JYPE announced the survival show “Stray Kids”. Something unprecedented happened: In the show, Han Jisung was introduced as the producer, singer, rapper of the “Male Group Project”. The “Male Project Team” was special from the start because, unlike most other K-pop groups, it was not formed by the agency. Instead, Bang Chan himself had put together the team of a total of nine members. The members were: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Han, Changbin, Felix, Hyunjin, Seungmin, I.N and Woojin.

In the last episode of the Survival Show on December 19, 2017, it was announced that this very group that Bang Chan put together would also be making their debut. However, in October 2019, Woojin left the group for unknown reasons.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

In his career as a rapper and producer of the up-and-coming and charismatic group “Stray Kids”, Han Jisung and his members achieved several milestones and surpassed themselves with every comeback. Since the list of their successes is very long, we have recorded some of the most important milestones for you here:

• As of August 2021, their album Noeasy has sold over 1,127,800 copies. This was the first time that Stray Kids and a group from the JYPE label broke the million mark.
• In March 2022, their album ODDINARY reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts for the first time.
• In August 2022, Stray Kids became the third Korean band to reach 10 million subscribers on YouTube, after BTS and BIGBANG.
• In October 2022, Stray Kids reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts for the second time in a row with MAXIDENT.
• In June 2023, Stray Kids reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts for the third time in a row with the album 5-STAR. They also broke the record for the most pre-ordered album in K-pop history at the time of its release.
• In November 2023, Stray Kids reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 for the fourth time in a row with their album ROCK-STAR. "LALALALA" also became their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 charts at number 90.

SONGWRITING CREDITS

On February 3, 2023, Han Jisung was officially registered with KOMCA (The Korea Music Copyright Association) with 147 songs registered to his name.

This is because he writes and produces almost all of Stray Kids' songs himself, together with Bang Chan and Changbin, under the name of the unit 3RACHA.

In addition to his vlogs, which he uploads to YouTube, Han was seen on the rap competition show “Show me the Mone”. He also made a one-time guest appearance as a presenter on the show Show Music Core.
